To better serve our patients, we specifically stock medications commonly prescribed by our physicians, including oral chemotherapy medications not easily found in other retail pharmacies.
Our pharmacies are staffed with registered pharmacists and pharmacy technicians specializing in the preparation of chemotherapy. They work closely with our physicians, nurses, and social workers to coordinate your treatment and maintain access to the most current medication information.
We have retail pharmacies located at our Lemmen-Holton, Muskegon, and The Lacks Cancer Center that are open to all of our patients. Our retail pharmacies are open to the public, as well as to our patients. Ask your physician or nurse about getting your oncology-related prescriptions filled and mailed directly to your home. Filling prescriptions with us may be more convenient, but your local pharmacy can special order these medications for you as well.
Should you choose our retail pharmacy, we ask that you bring your prescriptions to us early in your visit so that we can have them ready for you to take following your appointment. For medication refills, we request 24-48 hours notice. Therefore, it is helpful if you are aware of your medication supply and call before you run out. Refill requests for routine prescriptions can be accepted by phone during regular business hours. For your safety, our on-call physician (after-hours) cannot renew routine medications.
Please be aware that most narcotic medications require a written prescription and therefore cannot be renewed over the phone.
Please be prepared to provide us with a copy of your prescription insurance card so we can verify your co-pay as well as your coverage for the prescribed medication.
Please remember that no matter where you choose to have your prescriptions filled, you should always be prepared to provide a complete list of your current medications. This helps the pharmacist assess for potential drug interactions.
